General presentation

Singapore Airlines A380 made aviation history completing the first commercial flight by the world’s largest jetliner that boasts luxurious suites, double beds and the quietest interior of any plane.
The A380 is capable of carrying 853 passengers in an all-economy class configuration. However, Singapore Airlines, opted for 471 seats in three classes – 12 Suites, 60 business class and 399 economy class.
Each suite is fitted with a leather upholstered seat, a table, a 23-inch flat screen TV, laptop connections and a range of office software. A separate bed folds up into the wall. Two of the suites can be joined to provide double beds, one of which the Elwoods occupied.
On the upper deck, business class seats can turn into wide flat beds, while the economy class seats on both decks will enjoy more leg and knee room. Business class passengers also have a bar area.
The new office productivity software suite allows you to work on your business documents (word processor, spreadsheet and presentation) right from the inflight entertainment system. No longer will you need to bring your laptop into the airplane to work!
The 110 V AC in-seat power supply system keeps you connected to your favourite software, games, and music from your laptop for the entire flight. The 110 V AC system supports Australian 2/3-pin, European 2-pin, Japanese 2/3-pin, and US 2/3-pin plugs. A universal adapter is required for plugs that are not compatible with the system. Passengers are advised to bring along the universal adapters for use onboard during the flight.

While the first class offers cabin suites... and double beds if you combine two together, it's somehow claustrophobic. It offers privacy...yes... of course. Especially since the Business Class consists of 60 seats making Business Class cabins a little bit noisier, busier and less private than you'd expect.

The economy class... well, there's the new USB port offered on every seat plus powerports. Also, upgraded entertainment services (which I experienced to be slow and unreliable, as it froze and needed a reset).

The pitch is good, and the seat is decent in Economy class... the LCD screen is huge.
There is no bar, no gym, no shower... like the promo videos.

We enjoyed our flight, there was more leg room, and the entertainment system was much better than the 747 jumbo. I was disappointed with the length of the seat belt. I'm a fairly large lady and it would just get around me. I assumed all seats belts on all planes would be the same, but, on the return trip we had to travel on a 747 from Singopore to Melbourne and the seat belt was much longer and very comfortable. Can you explain why the seat belts on the 388 are shorter, seems ridiculous that this has happened and I hope it will be remedied by the time I travel again.

All Suites look the same. Please, check the pictures for a better idea. Each cabin features sliding doors and window blinds, offering you the freedom to decide on the level of privacy you prefer. Even the leather and wood finishes have been designed in soothing natural hues to enhance the sense of serenity. The premium cabin has also been laid out to offer more stowage space for your cabin baggage and personal items, and a full length wardrobe – all within easy reach.

In the SUITE CLASS you can feel even more at home with pajamas and beddings designed by Givenchy. What a luxury :-) Along with the turndown services, the fine linen and plush, full-sized pillows are the perfect touches for a perfect night's sleep.

You will have some sensuous Ferragamo toiletries. these finer details ensure that you arrive at your destination feeling refreshed and revitalised.

Restrooms feature a full size Hollywood mirror and enhanced lighting. Freshening up never felt so glamorous....isnt that amazing?

Singapore Airlines A380 is one of the most luxurious aircraft aloft. I took a film of a walk through the front half of the upper cabin, walking from the rear (economy) into Business class. Spot the much smaller rear upper economy cabin - this is the place to sit if you want some peace and quiet on your journey.

Last week, the A380 flew to London. Here is a very complete report I've found on the web. We can see a passenger's opinion about coach class, a SIA employee telling us why he bets for the A380 and the lady from the movie trying the suites... check it out!

Singapore Airlines prepare these huge aircraft to be the most impresive one on earth. When you are on the air and see where you are staing, you forget about the flight, and you could easily imagine you are in an five stars hotel. The suit's seats can sudenly became in comfortable beds so you can have an exelent flight.

First look at the interior layout of the A380 for its launch customer Singapore Airlines.
Check out the first class cabin. It's basically like having your own little suite in the sky.
