Singapore Airlines Covid Rules

What is Singapore Airlines doing to ensure the safety and well-being of passengers?

Following the COVID19 pandemic, Singapore Airlines has taken a series of measures to ensure the safety and well-being of passengers onboard. When preparing to fly with Singapore Airlines, the COVID-19 Information Centre offers you all the information you need about:

  • Travel advisories.
  • Additional safety measures.
  • Cancelation and rebooking options.

Travel Advisories

Prerequisites to enter the country are in place around the world, mandated by the respective governments. If you plan to travel, you can check the regulations for your destinations on the Travel Advisories page. You can also check the transit requirement if you have any connecting flights by entering the transit point. If your transit and destination have different requirements, you must fulfill the stricter requirements.

Currently, fully vaccinated travelers can fly to Singapore on any Singapore Airlines flight with no quarantine requirements and no pre-departure COVID-19 test but must have proof of vaccination. Non-fully vaccinated travelers must obtain entry permission, present a negative COVID-19 test before departure, and quarantine for seven days. Non-fully vaccinated travelers generally must obtain entry permission. All travelers must submit, via the SG Arrival Card (SGAC) e-Service or via the mobile application, an electronic health declaration form 3 days prior to the date of arrival in Singapore.

Additional Safety Measures

Additional safety measures taken by Singapore Airlines ensure an easier, safer, and smoother journey and have been recognized with a 5-star rating in the Skytrax Covid-19 Airline Safety Audit and a ‘Diamond’ rating in the APEX Health Safety audit. From check-in to arrival, you can count on safety precautions such as:

  • Mask requirement. All passengers, 6 years and older, must wear a face mask covering the nose and mouth during the flight, except when eating/drinking or if prescribed exemptions apply (i.e., medical reasons with a certified doctor’s letter).
  • Enhanced cleaning and rigorous disinfecting:
    • Aircraft are thoroughly cleaned before every flight: cabin surfaces are treated with a long-lasting antimicrobial coating, frequently touched surfaces are disinfected, and lavatories are cleaned with high-strength disinfectants. On select aircraft, for a deeper cleaning, electrostatic spraying machines spray disinfectant that clings onto surfaces, such as seat cushions, and kills any present bacteria.
    • Every Singapore Airlines aircraft is equipped with HEPA filters, which remove more than 99.9% of the microbes in the air. Throughout the flight, cabin air is renewed every 2-3 minutes.
    • All headsets, headrests and pillow covers, blankets, and bedsheets are replaced after every flight. Linens are laundered at high temperatures to sanitize them, and headsets are disinfected and packed individually with hygienic covers.
  • Innovations to minimize contact:
    • All passengers are encouraged to minimize their time at the airport by turning on Auto Check-in or using the Online/Mobile Check-in service if eligible. However, passengers required to check in at the airport counter can rest assured that there are safety precautions in place at the airport counters.
    • At select airports, you can use self-service kiosks to check baggage and print your baggage tags by simply scanning your digital or mobile boarding pass and then the automated bag drop counters to drop off your checked baggage. At Changi Airport, self-service kiosks are fitted with proximity sensors, so you will only need to hover your finger over the screen to make your selection.
    • You can preview your in-flight food, beverage, and snack offerings up to eight days before your flight via the digital in-flight menu and also pre-order your duty-free shopping.
