Hotel Panviman Koh Phangan – A treasure on a beautiful crescent moon beach

We arrived to Koh Phangan on February 6th on the ferry from Koh Samui after spending a couple of nights on the island. It took approximately 30 minutes on the boat and about 20 minutes by taxi from the port to reach Hotel Panviman.

The hotel with 94 rooms is located in a charming hidden area, in the middle of tropical vegetation, and offers views of Thong Nai Pan with access to a private beach. It has an infinity pool and spa, which is located on top of a hill and offers great views of the sunset. All the rooms are luxurious and include high-quality bedding and furniture. They have a comfortable design and enjoy beautiful views of the landscape. They also have a large private balcony and a luxurious bathroom with an indoor or outdoor bathtub. A smartphone with free calls and data is provided in all rooms. Hotel Panviman’s two beachfront restaurants, Pan Sea and Stone Beach, serve local and international food. Pan Sea has 360-degree views of the Gulf of Siam. Guests can enjoy practicing various water sports such as diving, snorkelling and canoeing, or other activities such as hiking and off-road excursions.

The location of the private beach is spectacular. On the beach you can use kayaks, paddle surf boards, goggles and snorkels, etc., which are provided free of charge by the hotel. On the same beach you can find three more hotels, with their restaurants and a tiny street with beach bars where you can have a fantastic meal for €3, with supermarkets, pharmacies, restaurants, spas, etc.

The Hotel

When we arrived at the hotel, the reception staff treated us wonderfully. They invited us to sit on comfortable sofas overlooking the sea, giving us the typical Thai garlands as a welcome gift and offering us iced tea and cold towels to refresh ourselves.

Comfortably seated, we checked in and rested a bit after the trip, while giving us all kinds of information about the hotel at the same time. Then, a hotel tuk tuk brought us to our suite located on the top of the complex’s hill. The hotel offers a 24-hour tuc tuc service, so if you need to be taken from one area of the hotel to another, you just call reception and in less than a minute you’ll have the tuc tuc waiting at your door. Riding in the tuc tuc is highly appreciated, since the hotel is built on a hill and walking up and down them can be difficult at times!

The Lobby

When we entered our Suite Jacuzzi Deluxe, we couldn’t believe what we saw. We were completely speechless and in love with its 66 square metres, the style and the views from the suite. We had two floors. On the first floor, we had a fairly large bathroom, large closets, a King size bed, a huge flat screen TV and a terrace with two sunbeds and an umbrella from where we had incredible views of the sea. We also had a mini bar with drinks and welcome food, a pillow menu, music player, DVD player and some great bathrobes.

The entire ground floor was a giant bathroom with a shower and the Jacuzzi that had a fairly large window right in front in order to take a bath with the stunning views of the sea surrounded by lush greenery. In addition, the Jacuzzi and the bathroom in general had a system of coloured lights that allowed you to create different ambiences. On the wall we had a flat screen TV that you could watch while taking a bath in the Jacuzzi.

The Jacuzzi

After unpacking our bags and freshening up quickly, we decided to get something to eat at one of the hotel Panviman´s restaurants right next to the pool. We ordered wine while they prepared the food and we went down a few steps to take pictures with the amazing views of the beach. I was so happy with what I was seeing that I almost cried with joy! The views of the beaches were indescribable, simply magical.

After the photo shoot, we sat down to eat a green chicken curry with vegetables and a prawn salad that tasted otherworldly. We only ordered those two dishes because it was late and we didn’t want to eat very much in order to eat dinner later, but all the dishes that were going to the other tables looked fantastic. There weren’t very many people eating at that time, so we felt super relaxed with an incredible feeling of peacefulness.

Lunch at the hotel with amazing views to the beach

After eating, we walked to the hotel’s beach and took a kayak to see the hotel from the sea. The hotel complex is amazing and the breeze in that area is super relaxing.

Kayaking

We decided to take a walk around after leaving the beach and went to go find a diving school. We found a great one thanks to the hotel’s recommendation, and there we made a reservation for the next morning.

We returned to the hotel to take a shower and of course a Jacuzzi!!!!! We got dolled up and didn’t think too hard about where to go for dinner. We had been told on the hotel’s beach that at night they had a barbecue at the restaurant and so we went there. At around 8 pm, we went down to dinner. They gave us a giant tray with all kinds of seafood and barbecued meats, along with a wonderful bottle of French white wine. We preferred not to order dessert and instead had a couple of margaritas. We didn’t stay too long because we were tired and the next day we had the dive very early and we wanted to be in tip-top shape since we love diving. So we took a short walk around the hotel and went to sleep.

Barbecue at the Beach

The next morning, we went down to breakfast to the hotel’s impressive breakfast room with wonderful views of the beach. The buffet was very complete. There was an area where they prepared all kinds of eggs and omelettes, another area with fresh juices made with different fruits, incredibly delicious pastries and all kinds of salty snacks and Thai food. I must point out that the coffee was also really great. Honestly, every day we had so much for breakfast that we could barely eat at midday! It was completely worth trying everything in the breakfast room!

The Breakfast Room

Breakfast

Once we recharged our batteries in the breakfast room, we went to the beach where we had planned to meet the people in charge of the diving school to go out and dive at Sail Rock. We took the boat with 5 more people and it took us about 30 minutes to get to Sail Rock. I can’t describe what we saw in the two dives we did that morning. We were so lucky that we even got to see a whale shark! It was really impressive. It was one of the best dives I’ve ever done and we’re big fans of diving, going several times a year.

We went back to the hotel around 4:00 pm and we were exhausted, so we took a nap for an hour and then we showered and got dressed so we could go for a walk around the hotel. I don’t know how many pictures I took at the hotel. We felt so comfortable that we didn’t feel the need to venture outside.

Before going to dinner, we went to the hotel spa to book a Thai massage for two with sea views. This was without a doubt one of the best massages of our entire trip to Thailand.

Thai Massage for two

In the evening, there was a fire show on the hotel’s beach, so we decided to have dinner again at the beach restaurant so we could watch the show. Every night they offer a different show on the hotel’s beach.

The show was impressive, and dinner once again didn’t disappoint. We ordered a spicy green curry that we love and a Thai salad that was incredible. For dessert, we ordered an assortment of cakes and had two piña coladas. It was honestly very entertaining to have such a delicious dinner while watching the show. It was great fun with extraordinary music in the background.

The next day we were taking a flight back home, so we went around the hotel to say goodbye to all the wonderful places it had and to take a few more photos.

Good Bye beautiful Panviman

One of the things that most excited me about our stay at the hotel Panviman were the incredible sunsets and the wonderful sunrises. The peace that’s felt in that area takes your breath away. It had been a long time since I felt as relaxed and at peace as I had during those two days at the hotel. For me, this is the true meaning of the word vacation.

Thailand is characterised by how wonderfully its people treat you, but the staff at this hotel was truly indescribable. They were attentive to us at all times. We were informed of absolutely everything, and not only the people at the reception desk but also the employees at each of the restaurants. All the staff was very respectful, super polite and friendly.

The truth is that our two-day stay at this hotel was magical and even today, looking at the photos, in my mind I travel back to that heavenly place in my imagination, dreaming of the day I can return.
