The SWISS First class seat on the Airbus A330 offers solid comfort, but it clearly shows its age. The padding and sleeping surface are perfectly fine for an eight-hour flight, yet the overall design feels dated compared to modern First class products. Privacy is limited, especially with a full eight-seat cabin, and without sliding doors or a more enclosed layout, it feels closer to an older generation Business class than a true flagship experience. Storage space does the job, but the inflight entertainment system feels old and doesn’t really add much to the flight. Where SWISS really shines is the onboard dining. The meal service is well timed and consistently good throughout the flight. Standout dishes include the Balik salmon, which is fresh and full of flavor, and the saffron cream soup, which is easily one of the best inflight soups I’ve had in First class. The champagne selection is another highlight, with Pommery Cuvée Louise 2006 setting a very high bar with a proper cheese platter to finish the meal. |
