Seat Map Ethiopian Airbus A350 900

The A350 we were on has the older Collins Super Diamond Seats rather than the preferrable Safran Optima seats. The middle two seats are preferred (each has aisle access) but we had no option. In fairness, its not a bad seat. 78" pitch. Slightly mean 20" width. Good screen but poor selection of up-to-date films. Food was ok. Note that the window seat foot well is slightly smaller than the aisle seat. As a couple I'd choose the middle seats in future. Service is friendly but not polished at all.

Our flight (but note not all) had the new Safran Optima seat. We liked it a lot. 79" pitch is great for me (6 foot) and masses for my wife. 20" width needs an inch or two more ideally, but I wasn't complaining. Being in row 1 meant noise from the galley - and there was plenty of noise - chatting, banging doors incessantly, slightly irritating. Food is "so-so". IFE lacks lots of up to date films. But price point on Ethiopian Airlines is great.

ET currently fly 18 A350s. The oldest 14 are in a 2-2-2 configuration. Two of the newest (-AYB and -AYM) are in a new 1-2-1 configuration using the Zodiac Optima seat. (Think United Polaris.) It is my belief that -AYA and -AYN have the same configuration and a flight attendant told me that the newer 787-9s have it too. It's much better than the 2-2-2 on older planes.
