Flew the Dreamliner to/from SYD, 1st from LAX and then back from SYD to SFO. Sat in economy class and I was pleasantly surprised at how good the flight was - so much so that the Dreamliner is now my favorite flight for long haul travel. I'm quite tall (6'3") but the legroom was good and my knees didn't bang up against the seat as they do on some other UA planes. Seats don't recline much (3") but the benefit is even when the person in front of you reclines, they aren't in your face and you can watch TV or eat or get up and still be comfortable. Even though we flew the same aircraft down and back, it felt like row 33 had slightly more legroom than row 36, which we had going to SYD. I am a believer in the benefits of the Dreamliner as I arrived in SYD feeling refreshed and completely fine, and I travel to Australia quite frequently. Food was better going out of LAX than SYD, surprisingly. Entertainment had good choice but a strange mix of old movies and new, and TV - other airlines do a much better job with providing content. There were power outlets beneath the seat but didn't use them as there was a USB port on the TV screen, which was quite large. Overall this was a good an economy experience as I have had on a long-haul international flight and wouldn't hesitate to fly this aircraft again.

I am appalled that in addition to the $60 baggage fee, your airline had the nerve to gouge passengers for snacks.

Get smart and start charging your passengers who hold everyone else up by bringing baggage on-board. Perhaps if you engage in this practice you'll have enough revenue in order not to charge for checked baggage and snacks.

Not one passenger in the area of my seat purchased a snack....wake up and start respecting your passengers.

Purchased first class seat. I am posting photos so that everyone can see what United is selling as United does not include this information on their website. In fact they state the seats in first class are "Lie flat". No, they actually recline a few degrees, about the same amount as their economy plus seats. They are comfortable seats, adequately wide for the 3 1/2 to 4 hour flight to the caribbean. United should include photos on their website so that their customers know what it is they are selling. Service from the stewards and stewardesses are polite and professional but lack any smiles at all. Not even a "Thank you for flying United" when you depart the plane. We are all just live cargo now. Even in first class.

The entertainment system is inaudible. No captioning available. If you are flying in economy, do not purchase. It is a waste. Also, the flight map is only available via the entreatment system, thus you have to pay to follow the flight. This is not acceptable.

We had seats 1A and 1B, which were extremely comfortable. The seats had excellent recline to bed position, and great leg rest. The entertainment selection was very good and current, and while close to the galley, the excellent quality headphones blocked out cabin noise. Food and drink were very good, and the flight attendants attentive.

Although it's an exit row, the seat by the window doesn't have much extra legroom as the door protrudes into the cabin to hold the evacuation slide. You can leave and access your seat without bothering your flight neighbors.

The sit's width is slightly as the table and the TV set is in the armrests. The good thing is that it's harder for your neighbor to "spill" on your space ;-)

The same is applicable to Seat 33A.

I'm usually wary of getting a bulkhead seat right next to the galley because of noise issues. However, this was a no-brainer since the footwells in rows 1 and 4 have more room in the footwell. If you're under 6', please do the tall people a favour and do NOT choose these rows. We really need the extra foot space. And happily, the cabin crew working the galley kept the noise to the absolute minimum. UA has been impressing me with its international business service lately. Well done.

The aircraft is wonderful! Big windows and, as noted below, a very quiet ride, especially up front. I didn't have an issue with the windows not blacking out completely as I always sleep with the eyemask on an aircraft. The seats are the same as the former Continental business first product. The service was very attentive and professional - a pleasant surprise. My only gripe was that, being 6'4", (193cm), the foot well is cramped.
