If this was a "Good" seat, I can only thank God I didn't get a "Beware" or even normal seat. It was narrow, so my seat buddy in 18C and I were "elbow jousting" the whole flight. Exit row seats are great as they are more stable in rough flights, and we had a good bit of constant turbulance, so beverage service never even got to us. NOT worth the upgrade price

This seat was one of the more forward Economy seats on UA's flight from SFO to Incheon. United didn't sell out, so the middle seat next to me was empty. This seat would be uncomfortable on a full flight, as would all of Economy and Economy plus. But given the situation, this sear is in a convenient spot, close enough to the toilet and the galley, but not on top of it, with a good view of both main screen and smaller video screen. Nothing that UA did changed my view that UA's economy is drab these days with shockingly bad food and expensive alcoholic drinks (US$7 for a domestic beer). It didn't appear that Economy plus was much better. Leg room is inadequate, given I am short and still find the seats cramped. The selection of movies was acceptable- I did not download the app to browse through UA entertainment on line. There are no power plugs in Economy and I needed to save my battery power for work.

This is a standard aisle seat located on the right side of the aircraft just a few rows behind the over-wing exit rows. It is one of what I call the "back-of-the-bus" seats featuring the new Slimline Recaro seating. In light of the trend by most of the domestic air carriers to squeeze as many seats/rows as possible into their airplanes, the best thing I can say about this seat is that it was adequate in terms of breadth, leg space and comfort. If you are 5' 10" or less in height, or a somewhat taller person with short legs, you will be able to sit in this seat and still have a couple of inches between your knees and the back of the seat in front of you. In other words, you don't have to sit upright and uptight and feel as though you cannot move or a frozen in place. The lumbar support of the seat back is neither better nor worse than any other typical economy/coach-class seat on United Airlines. I do wish that the seat cushion itself was more supportive - it felt soft and thin - perhaps because the density of the foam, filler or stuffing material used is lacking. On a long flight this seat may become uncomfortable and cause you to squirm a bit or want to get up and move around. Seat recline has been reduced and I was only able to move/tilt the seat back about two inches. Fortunately, for me, the middle seat on this flight was empty and that made my specific seat feel less confining and more bearable as I could spread out a bit (likewise for my seatmate in the adjoining window seat of this row). To reiterate my earlier comment, this seat was adequate and tolerable given the trend by the airlines of reducing seat pitch on their aircraft. Stated simply, it represents the new standard in air travel for the average passenger traveling on a budget.

(coach/ economy)A painfully long flight on an aging cabin/ model; everything on this 747 should be updated. No individual entertainment is provided lousy service etc. Never again will I use this route. The photos below are for 1st class. Good luck for the 99% ...

Small cramped plane for such a long flight - 7+ hours. A couple of extra seat pitch inches would make all the difference. I object to paying extra (E+) for avoiding discomfort. Sound port didn't work, but that is minor in my view compared with having knees jammed in seat back.

Excellent lay-flat seat. When fully reclined, even I (at 6 foot 4 inches) can lay completely flat. Note - use the duvet cushion provided which gives more padding for the bed. Plenty of in-seat storage space, with 4 little compartments around the seat to store smaller items (shoes/small bag/headphones). IFE is good as well - wish UA would provide more music options like they used to before. This seat is nice as it sits in the back of the First cabin, angled towards the window seats away from the galley noise and light. Behind you is the quiet section of Business. Recommend 2C/2H if you want to sleep during the flight. Service on this flight was excellent with UA's senior crew. My FA was excellent and provided great service almost the entire 14 hour flight for which I was awake about 7 hours. The food was good as well, with Halal catered meals from Dubai. The mid-flight snacks were buffet style arranged at the galley. Quite a nice treat!

This is a good seat, but there isn't as much room as there appears to be in the seat map. The business class seats on the parition are further back than the map shows. I was not able to stretch my legs out as if I'd had another economy plus seat in front of me. On the other hand, even though I had a window seat, there was no problem at all getting past the other person in the row to the aisle.

Bulk head is roomy, space extends to under first class seats. Flight attendants were very personable. Plane is old and only shows one movie, did have Wifi for purchase. My family of three had A to C and it was average for roominess.

On the flight to Lima, I found my cabin to be a lot quieter then usual. I also found the cabin in economy/economy first unusually quiet. (Besides the food carts). Overall, I really enjoyed my flight to Lima, exept for the fact we had to change planes at Newark.
