How can I check in for an EVA Air flight?

When traveling on an EVA Air flight, various options are available for passengers to check in before or after arriving at the airport:

  • Online Check-in.
  • Mobile Check-in
  • Self-Service Kiosk Check-in.

When must I check in for my EVA Air flight?

At a minimum, passengers should check in one hour before the scheduled departure time for international flights, but they may need three hours in airports with strict procedures such as in the U.S. Passengers who need assistance to complete check-in and pre-boarding procedures (Unaccompanied Minors, deaf, blind or disabled passengers, passengers using a wheelchair or walker, etc.) should check in at least two hours before scheduled departure time. It is very important that passengers check on time because their reserved seat could be released, and they could be denied boarding if they are late.

Online Check-in

Online Check-in is available to ticketed passengers with confirmed bookings only from 48 hours up to 90 minutes before departure time. Online Check-in is available for all EVA Air and UNI Air international flights, except charter flights and code-share flights (operated by EVA Air, UNI Air, or other airlines).

The Online Check-in service is unavailable to the following passengers:

  • With a flight schedule that does not match the original electronic ticket.
  • Who are required to pay a fare difference or tax associated with the ticket.
  • Traveling with infants.
  • Under the age of 12 who are traveling unaccompanied.
  • Who are not electronic ticket holders.
  • Requiring assistance (such as those with medical conditions).
  • Traveling in groups (10 or more passengers in one single booking).
  • With a paper visa (only passengers with ESTA clearance can use the Online Check-in service).

Self-Print Boarding Pass

Passengers who check in online and who are departing from one of the following cities may print their boarding pass online:

Even when departing from one of the cities above, the Self-Print Boarding Pass service is not available in the following situations:

  • When passengers are traveling to the US and Australia (in compliance with government regulations, they must still perform a traditional check-in).
  • If the ticket was purchased online or by phone with a credit card (for security and to prevent credit card fraud, the credit card used to purchase the tickets must be presented for inspection at the airport during check-in for the first flight segment).
  • When the itinerary includes a sector that is not eligible for the self-print boarding pass service (you will not be able to print the boarding pass for any sector of your itinerary).
  • When the booking class does not match the original ticket.

Passengers with a boarding pass printed online and traveling without baggage to check in may proceed directly through security and immigration to the departure gate. You must present all your travel documents at the boarding gate at least 30 minutes prior to flight departure. Passengers with baggage to check in must drop their baggage at the Online Check-in counter at least 60 minutes prior to flight departure.

Passengers who are not eligible to print their own boarding pass online may take the printed confirmation to one of the Self Check-in Kiosks available at select airports. The kiosk will scan the confirmation and then print the boarding pass.

Mobile Check-in

Passengers may check in by EVA Mobile app or on m.evaair.com from 24 hours up to 3 hours before departure. The same conditions and restrictions of the Online Check-in service apply to Mobile Check-in.

After completing Mobile Check-in, most passengers will receive a check-in confirmation that can be displayed on the screen of your mobile device and shown to EVA Air check-in staff. The e-Boarding Pass service that allows you to proceed directly through security and immigration to the boarding gate is only available for flights departing from:

Self-Service Kiosk Check-in

Passengers can check in at a Self-Service Kiosk from 05:00 am until 60 minutes before scheduled departure. Check-in kiosks are available at:

Hello Kitty Check-in Kiosks

EVA Air has installed dedicated Hello Kitty kiosks at Terminal 2 of Taoyuan International Airport. These specially designed kiosks are available exclusively to passengers waiting to board one of EVA Air’s new Hello Kitty jets operating Hello Kitty Jet flight routes, except Paris and Houston routes.

Kiosk Check-in & Self-Tagging Service

At London Heathrow Airport T2, EVA Air implemented the Kiosk Check-in & Self-Tagging service. You can input the number of baggage you wish to check in and print your baggage tags. The Self-Tagging service is also available to passengers who have completed Online/Mobile Check-in and printed their boarding pass. After you stick the tag on your checked baggage, you can go to the baggage drop service counter to complete the check-in process.
