Are children allowed to travel alone on Ural Airlines flights?
Up to 12 years, children are allowed to travel alone on Ural Airlines flights only as Unaccompanied Minors. An Unaccompanied Minor is a child who is not accompanied by an adult passenger (at least 18 years or with full legal capacity in accordance with the Russian Federation civil law).
At what age are children allowed to travel as Unaccompanied Minors?
On Ural Airlines flights, children are allowed to travel as Unaccompanied Minors from 5 years of age on flights within Russia and CIS, and from 6 years of age on international flights.
The Unaccompanied Minors service is mandatory up to the age of 12 years, but may be requested by parents or guardians, on an optional basis, up to the age of 18 years.
Unaccompanied Minor Service
Unaccompanied Minors may travel only on direct scheduled flights or to the first point of transit and only to/from airports where there are Ural Airlines representatives or authorized agents. Ural Airlines accepts a maximum of 4 Unaccompanied Minors per flight and only in Economy Class.
Booking the flight and the Unaccompanied Minor service can only be done at the airline’s own sales offices, at agencies having direct agreements with Ural Airlines, or Ural Airlines representative offices. The Unaccompanied Minor service must be confirmed by the airline at least 3 days prior to departure. The Unaccompanied Minor is accepted for carriage only if the booking is confirmed and the Application for Carriage of an Unaccompanied Minor containing all the required details submitted. For travel outside Russia, underage citizens of the Russian Federation need the notarized consent of the parents or guardians to leave Russia.
Check-in for Unaccompanied Minors can only be done at the check-in counter at the airport to allow Ural Airlines employees to take care of the child when passing through all departure formalities.
Unaccompanied Minors must travel with an adult ticket (no child discount). In addition to the full fare, the Unaccompanied Minors service fee must be paid at the time of booking:
- RUB 3000 – flights within Russia and the CIS.
- EUR 50 per segment – international flights.
