Bulgaria Air flying with babies

Does Bulgaria Air impose age restrictions for infants?

Healthy newborns are not accepted for carriage within the first 7 days after birth. For premature babies, Bulgaria Air requires medical clearance.

Do I really need to reserve a seat for my baby when flying with Bulgaria Air?

If your baby is up to 2 years old, you only have to inform Bulgaria Air that you will be traveling with an infant on your lap. Each adult is only allowed to hold one infant on lap. When an adult is traveling with more two infants, a seat must be purchased for the second infant, no matter the age. As long as you have a proper restraint device, you can always choose to purchase a seat for your baby.

Flying with Children

Infant and Child Discounts

When you hold your baby on lap, the 90% infant discount applies for all fares.

For infants with a separate seat and children aged 2 to 12 years, the 33% child discount applies for Economy Saver & Flexible and Business fares. There is no child discount for Economy Hand baggage Only & Promotional fares.

Infants’ Free Baggage Allowance

For infants without a seat, Bulgaria Air offers a free baggage allowance of 1 piece up to 10 kg and 115 cm only if the accompanying adult has a free baggage allowance (i.e., for all fares except Economy Hand baggage Only fare).

When traveling with babies, the transportation of baby strollers is free of charge, but it is mandatory to hand over the stroller right before embarkation and to receive it at the aircraft upon disembarkation. In case the stroller has not been handed over/received at the aircraft, Bulgaria Air is not responsible for damages as a result of transportation on the baggage belts.
