Is medical clearance required for acceptance of newborns on Air Mauritius flights?

On Air Mauritius flights, newborns may travel without a medical clearance after the first week from birth.

Does Air Mauritius offer discounts for infants and children?

Air Mauritius offers the usual discounts:

  • Infants (less than 2 years of age, without a separate seat) – 90% of the applicable fare.
  • Children (2-12 years of age) – 25-33% of the applicable fare.

Infants reaching the age of 2 during their journey must have a seat booked as a child for the respective portion of the journey.

Two infants accompanied by one adult may travel only if one of the two infants is over 12 months and is able to sit in a car seat approved for use on an aircraft. In this case, you will need to inform Air Mauritius at the time you book your flight and pay the applicable child fare for the seat occupied by the second baby.

Babies on Air Mauritius Flights

For the infants’ comfort, there are baby cots available on international flights. Baby cots can accommodate infants up to 12 months old and/or weighing up to 11 kg, depending on which condition is more restrictive. The number of baby cots is limited, and you should consider requesting one at the time you book your flight. The request will only be confirmed at check-in at the airport.
