Seat12H
FromLos Angeles-Los Angeles International (LAX)
ToMoscow-Vnukovo (VKO)
Checked in online, still at the airport took 40 min at the counter since they provided super slow service. The plane looked old inside. The seat was OK could of been better if it didn't smell like vomit. There was a box on the left side under the seat in front. No entertainment, or duty free shopping was offered in flight. Even though the plane wasn't full still they did not have enough pillows for all of the passengers. It was hot and sweaty on the plane during the whole flight and water was offered only two or three times. For some reason they asked passengers to keep the windows open which made the air temperature inside the plane even hotter. The restrooms in the premium economy class were reserved for the flight attendants (so they can have clean restrooms during the 11 hr flight). There were no cups of facial tissue in the restrooms and since premium economy class had use the restrooms behind the prem. economy class section it was always crowded and about 20 min wait. The food was OK, limited selection of drinks (no alcoholic beverages), when I asked for sparkling water they told me they only have one without gas - means just regular water, and of course they never have ginger ale on these flights. Overall it is convenient flight, but you would have to provide your own comfort and water.

Seat33A
FromMoscow-Sheremetyevo (SVO)
ToNew York-John F Kennedy Intl (JFK)
Transaero changed equipment so we flew on a 777-200 (built in 1990's). Each row in the rear economy section had 2 seats-aisle-5 seats-aisle-2 seats. My wife had 33A with nice view behind the wings. PROS: 1)departed on time, 2) easy on-line check-in 30 hours before flight 3) incredible pricing which we booked 3.5 months in advance, 4) decent and comfortable seats with fold-forward sides on headrest. CONS: 1) limited leg room with permanent metal box under the seats in front of us (32A&B)- so difficult to stretch out. 2) Cold air waiting for take-off requiring blanket (provided) then warm air later that left us sweating about 4 hours later. 3) the two diabetic meals (both the same) included dry chicken breast w/rice and over-cooked broccoli with small salad and whole apple. 4) flight attendants spoke little English and were curt with instructions to return to your seat - ALL IN ALL considering the price, these discomforts were worth it. Our JFK flight on JetBlue was 1.5 hours late departing.

Seat30B
FromNew York-John F Kennedy Intl (JFK)
ToMoscow-Sheremetyevo (SVO)
Seat 30B outbound, 32h inbound. great price, average seats, decent meal, free wine with dinner, late 1990's 772.
Beacuase of the cheap price, there are many children on board. On Western flights children are asked to stay in seats. On Trans Aero the children are free to run around the cabin and climb over passengers. I am a father and love children, but this was too much. Also if you are not Russian and do not speak Russian you will not get much help or courtesy fom the flight crew. I had a broken seat on the return flight. When I asked for a resolution, I was ignored so my seat did not recline. Movies in Russian outbound, NO entertainment inbound.

If you prefer decent price over anything else, Transaero is your best bet, but don't expect any entertainment at all.
