What services does Olympic Air offer regarding minors?
Olympic Air offers special services to ensure that children traveling alone receive the best of care and are escorted by highly-trained staff from the moment they arrive at airport check-in until they reach their destination. In the case where a child between the ages of 2 to 12 years has to travel without a parent or guardian, Olympic Air offers the Unaccompanied Minors Service.
What are the age restrictions on Olympic Air flights for children traveling alone?
Infants up to 5 years old can’t travel alone using Olympic Air’s services. Children up to the age of 12 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian on all Olympic Air flights. The parent or guardian must be older than 18 years of age, must supervise and be responsible for the child throughout the duration of the flight, and carry the child’s necessary identification documents and documents required at the destination. The child and the escort must be traveling together on the same flight and the same class.
The Unaccompanied Minors Service is offered to unaccompanied children between the ages of 5 to 12 years and is mandatory.
Unaccompanied Minors Service (5 -12 years of age)
The Unaccompanied Minors Service is offered to children between the ages of 5 to 12 years. The service provides for an Olympic Air ground employee who undertakes responsibility for the child from the parent or guardian and escorts him/her from the check-in counter to the aircraft. On board, the child will be under the care of the cabin crew for the entire duration of the flight. At the destination, the child is again received by a ground crew member and taken to the person that has been pre-appointed by the parent or guardian for pick-up.
The charges for the Unaccompanied Minor Service are (when two or more siblings are traveling together, the fee for only one child is charged):

Information such as the name, address and phone number of the person that will drop off the child at the departure airport and of the person that will meet and pick-up the child from the destination airport must be provided to Olympic Air. Also, an identification card must be shown both for the drop-off and pick-up of the child.
