General presentation

As of December 2010, the Air France’s fleet operated 15 Airbus A 330-200 aircrafts, with no additional ones expected to arrive in the near future.
With a length of almost 59 m (193.6 ft) and a wingspan of about 60 m (197 ft), the Airbus A330-200 is capable of a cruising speed of 871 km/h/537 mph at 11,000 m/36,000 ft. Its maximum range is 13,430 km/8,340 mi, its service ceiling 12,527 m/41,100 ft, and maximum speed 913 km/h/563 mph at 11,000 m/36,000 ft.
This aircraft belongs to the Airbus A340 family. The company operates with two different seating arrangements. One has 40 seats in Business Class and 179 in Economy, the other one has 40 seats in Business Class, 21 in Economy Plus (Premium Voyageur, Alizé) Class and 147 in Economy Class. With this long-haul aircraft, introduced in 2001, Air France revolutionized air travel in Tempo cabin class by giving passengers an unrivaled level of comfort thanks to new ergonomic seating with individual in-seat video, large screens as well as hi-fi stereo headphones for music and videos
Business (Première) class passengers have noise-reducing headsets, a 10.4” interactive video screen featuring a selection of films and news broadcasts, a power outlet and individual telephone. The lie flat seats have a massage function and optical fibre reading lamp. Seats recline up to 131º. There are individual screens for Economy class passengers. Some people complain about noise from the economy section. On some destinations such as Pointe-Noire, Malabo, Kuwait, Riad and Tashkent, Tempo classes offer outlets for your laptop computer.

The only positive is these seat is that 36J and 36K allowed my wife and it to be on our own row. But row 36 is just where a subtle angle in the aisle (where the plane body begins to narrow to the tail) begins and the aisle seat on this row--36J--gets hit by everyone going up the aisle. As stated by another reviewer, Air France has a huge armrest between the seats and it takes up way too much room and cannot be fully raised and stowed between the seat backs. Someone has to come up with a design to carry the entertainment system without taking 1/3 of the foot space in 36K. Also, the padding for the rear was woefully inadequate for a long haul flight. On our flight the seat in front was broken so when the passenger put his seat back the movie screen was 5 inches from my nose--in other words "Hey, Air France--one word-'maintenance!'" As far as entertainment--the movie/ TV selections were old and/or geared to kids.

Don't go with the front row premium voyageur. You have a bit more leg room but no foot rest, so it's harder to get comfortable enough to sleep. Also, the table and tv come out of the armrest, limiting the armrest size. And worse the table is tiny, far too small for a laptop. Rows 20 and 21 are much better.

I continue to wonder why Air France serves premium voyageur AFTER the rest of economy. It seems counterintuitive.

There are "black boxes" underneath some seats, which reduce place for feet to about 2/3 of normal space.
This is the case of 26G.

For me, with long legs, it comes to be quite annoying, since you can't have enough feet-freedom.

The black-boxes seem to belong to the media-streaming system.
Each box might serve some of the video-devices (2 or 3 seats) in that row.

So, please, try to remark these seats as well as reduced feet room.

We were informed that the premium seats had a footrest (we had a thigh rest, no footrest) and a seat that reclined further than the economy class seats. None of which was true!! Pictures we had seen were not the same as what we got! Very disappointed!

This was THE WORST SEAT that I have EVER had on any aircraft any time including USAF! My wife was in 21F and this was ever worse. I don't know how Air France gets away calling this caban "Premium" anything.

Emergency exit seat, so plenty of legroom but no foot rest. The in flight tv folds out from the seat and is a little small. The seat was quite narrow which made it hard to use the seats headphone jack or get comfortable.

The seat is extremely close to the bathroom and the bathroom door opens towards the seat. You will hear all the bathroom sounds and smells, you can’t sleep and all passengers stop right at your seat to wait for the bathroom

All row 23 faces a thin hard bulkhead between Economy and PE, but amount of space is good-- at 6'0", my toes are just touching the bulkhead. Center looks about 4" closer, but center aisles have only partial bulkhead.

My wife and I had 2A & 2B ORD to CDG and return. Both were excellent seats, I like window my wife likes aisle access. We consider them the best in Business class.

Excellent row and luckily had the seat next to me empty so it was a wonderful flight. Great meal and slept most of the way.
