Can I reserve a seat for my baby when traveling with IndiGo?

For safety reasons, children aged from 7 days up to 2 years on the date of travel are regarded as infants. IndiGo does not allow you to book an extra seat for an infant. You must hold your baby on your lap, and one adult may hold only one infant on lap. A maximum of 12 infants per flight is accepted on Airbus A320 aircraft and a maximum of 6 infants per flight on ATR aircraft.

Will I pay for my baby to travel on IndiGo flights?

For infants not occupying a seat, IndiGo charges a fee per sector (inclusive of all taxes):

Proof of the child’s age is required. If you fail to produce a valid proof of age, your baby will be allowed to travel only subject to availability of seats, and you will have to pay for your baby the full fare, as applicable on the date of travel.

An additional allowance is granted to passengers traveling with an infant on IndiGo flights:

  • 7 kg hand baggage plus one stroller – domestic flights.
  • 7 kg checked baggage plus one stroller – international flights.
