What is flydubai’s policy on hand baggage allowance?
flydubai allows passengers to take with them on board the aircraft a certain amount of baggage subject to weight and size restrictions:
|Hand Baggage Allowance|
|Hand Baggage||Number of pieces||1||2|
|Maximum weight||7 kg||14 kg|
|Maximum size||55 x 38 x 20 cm|
One laptop bag OR
One small handbag/satchel (max 25 × 33 × 20 cm) OR
One duty-free shopping bag
Passengers traveling with an infant may carry 5 kg of hand baggage in addition to their hand baggage allowance.
Smart bags within the hand baggage allowance limits are accepted as hand baggage, provided that all requirements set by flydubai are met:
- Advise the staff at check-in that you are traveling with a smart bag.
- The lithium battery must be removable and not exceed the power rating of more than 100Wh (Li-ion) or 2g (Li-metal).
- The smart bag must be powered off during the flight.
What is flydubai’s policy on checked baggage allowances?
Checked baggage allowances vary according to travel class and fare and are set by the Weight Policy:
|Free Checked Baggage Allowance|
|Maximum total weight||No allowance||20 kg||30 kg||40 kg|
|Number of pieces||Maximum 3|
|Maximum size||75 x 55 x 35 cm per piece|
|Maximum weight||32 per piece|
If you want to take a smart bag as checked baggage, you must advise the staff at check-in that you are traveling with a smart bag and remove the lithium battery that must not exceed the power rating of more than 100Wh (for Li-ion) or 2g (for Li-metal) and carry it in your hand baggage.
If you want to check in more than three pieces of checked baggage, extra pieces are accepted provided there’s space in the hold but are charged for the total weight at the per kilo rate, even if the total weight for all pieces is less than the allowance you purchased.
You can pre-purchase additional baggage allowance if you want to check in more than the baggage allowance included in your fare. You can pay in advance for additional baggage allowance (up to 40 kg including the free baggage allowance, if any) and benefit of an up to 90% discount on airport charges.
If you haven’t bought additional baggage allowance and you exceed your free baggage allowance, you’ll be charged a per kilo rate at the airport:

For damaged baggage, you need to file a damage claim within 1 month of travel so that flydubai pays for the bag to be repaired or replaced.
