Virgin Airlines – The Flamboyant Airline
Monday, April 7th, 2008 by admin

Virgin Airlines is one of the finest examples of excellent services in air travel. As flamboyant as its owner Mr. Richard Branson, this airline offers the comfort of long hours of traveling with excellent quality food and outstanding customer service.

There used to be times when people dreaded the long hours of traveling, with almost nothing to do besides looking down the window or read in-flight magazines and newspaper. However, with the steeping competition and foray of businessperson like Mr. Branson into the airline industry, the travelers can also have their share of entertainment and comfortable journey.

Virgin Airlines offers some of the best flying experience amongst contemporary airplanes. It establishes the fact that what matters to the travelers, particularly frequent flyers is not the size of the plane but the comfort and services it provides. Virgin Airline has a comfortable sitting arrangement with sufficient legroom.

The hospitality service in Virgin Airlines is worth mentioning; especially it is a delight for all those who have to fly for long hours. Equipped with all the safety and precautionary measure as required for a standard airplane; Virgin Airline also has ensured that you understand the safety measures, as they are shown by a video shown on the TV screen simultaneously. There is also the provision of a safely card kept on the seat pocket.

As the captain welcomes you on board the Virgin Airlines, you are all set to visit a world of entertainment, good food and good time. To start with, as you take your seat on board the Virgin, you are greeted with a welcome pack, which includes a headphone, a pair of socks, a small writing pad and pen, etc and a 10 percent discount voucher for the Virgin Stores. Similarly, kids also have something to feel good about as their welcome pack, which is a brightly colored backpack consisting of coloring books, pens, sweets, etc.

In-flight entertainment in Virgin has almost become synonymous with its name, so believes most frequent flyers. Passengers in a Virgin airplane have the access to a TV screen in front of them fitted on the back of the front seat with an armrest remote. You can see the world map on the screen, and the route you are following all the way to your destination airport. There are several channels of film, music and entertainment available along with gaming facilities like casino, etc.

Now speaking about the most fulfilling part of Virgin Airline travel, – the food and refreshments; without which the travel seems rather incomplete. The menu offers tour choices of main course from vegetarian to your choicest meat or fish. The meals are all inclusive of starters like pudding and a small bar of chocolate; a bottle red or white wine as meal accompaniment. And to add to your and your kids enjoyment are Virgin souvenir teddy bears dressed in captain’s uniform.

Moreover, what sums up well the Virgin airplane journey are the smooth take-off and landing, and the very hospitable in-flight services.

Do you work for Virgin? Did they pay you to write that?

I’m stunned that you can say that their seating is comfortable or that legroom is sufficient. Try a long 2-leg flight around the world, with the first leg on a decent airline and the second on Virgin. The legroom is rubbish, the lack of footrests makes it worse, the seat material is noticeably tacky, the colour scheme headache-inducing…

    I could go on.

This was not our experience the last time we flew with Virgin to las vegas in 2005. No meal as they missed our row and when they came back, only two choices both containing mushrooms which we do not eat. To make matters even worse, they ran out of alcohol, I only had one red wine!
