The airline based in Hawaii, Hawaiian Airlines plans to launch flights from Honolulu to Tokyo if approval is given by the US Department of Transportation. Hawaiian Airlines will offer two daily flights from Honolulu to Tokyo. The flights from Honolulu to Tokyo will be ensured by Hawaiian Airlines Boeing 767-300 ER with seats for 264 passengers. On 31st January 2010, Singapore Airlines Boeing 747-400 SQ11 operated an environmentally flight from Los Angeles to Singapore via Tokyo. With the environmentally friendly flight from Los Angeles, Singapore Airlines saved more than 10 tonnes of fuel and a reduction of more than 33 tonnes in the emissions of carbon. Singapore Airlines environmentally friendly flight from Los Angeles used 6% less fuel than usually required for a similar flight. Singapore Airlines flight SQ11 is the first environmentally friendly flight to operate under the Asia and Pacific Initiative to Reduce Emissions (ASPIRE) program.
