Detailed review on Delta Airlines McDonnell Douglas DC9 50 by toby
The 757 man
This was on of my favorite flights ever. The DC-9-50 is a wonderful plane, and it will hard to see it go at the end of 2012. 1A was an amazing seat for N778NC to Atlanta at 7:40 in the morning (DELTA 592 AS OF 4-2-11) The entire airplane was clean and looking new. Be sure to fy on a DC-9-51 while thy last. By the way, the former NWA crew were amazing. I might post a video on youtube of the cabin and my seat, so be on the lookout for it!

The service was not repetitive... although we had the chance to get up and get stuff from the galley.

This was a relatively short flight (20 minutes). I got on the plane, had pre-departure drinks, we took off, had an equivalent of what the refreshment service would be in coach on a longer flight (but it was a 20 minute flight), and landed.

Some of these aircraft have been reconfigured with the new Delta interior and those aircraft look very good and are very comfortable for a short flight. The condition of this aircraft seemed very improved over the 757 (5500 series) that was in horrid condition that I flew from MCO-DTW.
