1. What is the carry-on allowance?
TAM Airlines has the following carry-on allowances:
- Domestic, international (economy class) or Mercosul Flights: one item
- Flights to the United States* or Europe (Fiirst and Business class): two items
Each items must have maximum 5 kg, and 55X40X20 cm or a total of its dimensions of 115 cm/45 in.
In addition to the above, one personal item can be carried on board, such as an overcoat, camera, laptop, or binoculars, a reasonable amount of reading material, and so on.
2. What is the checked baggage allowance?
On domestic flights, passengers are allowed to carry 23 kg/51 lb of baggage.
On international flights to Europe, North America, South Africa and Asia, 2 pieces of luggage of up to 32 Kg on each, and the maximum linear measure of 158 cm are allowed.
At last, from flights departing from Europe, the checked baggage allowance is 2 pieces of luggage of up to 23 Kg on each, and the maximum linear measure of 158 cm.
3. What about oversized/overweight and excess luggage fees?
On domestic flights, an excess fee will be charged whenever the baggage allowance is exceeded according to the flight class. Its value is 0,5% of the Y fare for the travelled segment, for each exceeding kg.
On international routes, if your baggage exceeds the weight limit, you must take the exceeding weight as a third baggage item, and pay the excess baggage fees that apply. Please contact the airline for additional information.
4. How does TAM Airlines handle special items?
