1. What are the transport methods for pets provided by SunExpress?
SunExpress allows pets to travel in the passenger cabin, as checked baggage, in the hold of the aircraft, or shipped separately, as freight.
2. Can I take my pet in the passenger cabin?
If the permitted number of animals that can travel in the cabin is not exceeded, SunExpress allows dogs or cats weighing up to 6 kg (including container) to travel in the cabin.
3. How can I take my pet with me as checked baggage?
Dogs and cats weighing more than 6 kg will be transported in the hold, as checked baggage. For transportation as freight, please call +90 212 468 02 40 / 41 (from Turkey) or +49 (0)1805 - 747 100 (€ 0,14 per minute from German landline network).
4. What are the kennel requirements?
For pets in the cabin, the size of the ventilated and waterproof, lockable container, must not exceed the published dimensions for hand baggage of length 55 cm, width 40 cm, height 20 cm.
Special containers for travel in the hold can be obtained from pet shops - they must allow air to circulate, be waterproof and escape-proof.
5. What kind of health documents do I need for my pet?
Animal passports are required in all member states of the EU. For additional information, please contact your veterinarian or the Federal Department for Consumer Protection, Nutrition and Agriculture.
6. Are there any other pet-related restrictions with SunExpress?
Fighting dogs are not allowed for travel.
7. What are the fees SunExpress is charging for pet transport services?
Budgerigars and small turtles in the cabin are allowed at a cost of 10 EUR for both one-way and return flights, while dogs and cats are charged 20 EUR for one-way flights and 40 EUR for return flights.
For travel as checked baggage, the costs are 40 EUR for one-way flights and 80 EUR for return flights.
