Corsair flying with babies

Are there any conditions or restrictions when traveling with babies on Corsair flights?

Whereas a baby on board requires special attention, special conditions and restrictions apply when babies travel on Corsair flights. Babies (0 to 23 months) must be accompanied by an adult aged over 18, and only 1 baby per adult is allowed. Also, for safety reasons, the number of babies is limited to 25 per flight: 23 in Economy/Horizon Class and 2 in Premium Grand Large Class.

Does Corsair offer discounts for babies and children?

Corsair offers the following discounts for babies and children:

  • Babies (0 to 23 months) – 90% discount on the adult fare.
  • Children (2 to 11 years) – 0-33% discount on the adult fare depending on the fare and destination.

The baby tariff does not entitle the baby to have a seat during the flight, and the baby travels on his/her parents’ lap attached to one of them by a specially adapted belt. It is possible to purchase an additional seat for transporting the baby during the cruising phases, but the baby must be able to be seated on the aircraft seat. That is because car seats are not approved for air transportation, and the child cannot be kept in them in complete safety.

If a baby passenger on the outward flight becomes a child passenger on the return flight (he is 2 years old when he does the return flight), the baby tariff applies for the outbound flight. You must imperatively inform Corsair by phone at the time of booking.

Traveling with Babies

Even though babies do not have a seat during the flight, specific locations must be respected onboard because they are fitted with additional oxygen masks. Corsair reserves itself the right to move any passenger accompanying a baby who does not respect this instruction. For safety reasons, in the event of turbulence, takeoff or landing, the baby must be attached to one of its parents by a baby belt.

Corsair offers free bassinets for babies traveling on its flights. The bassinet may be used to lay the baby down in during the cruising phases. Bassinets are not allocated automatically. Since demand is high, it is recommended to book a bassinet when you buy your ticket. The number of bassinets on board is limited as follows:

  • Economy/Horizon Class – 2 on A330 aircraft and 6 on B747 aircraft.
  • Premium Grand Large & Business Class – no bassinet.

Baggage Allowance

For babies, Corsair offers a special allowance of 1 piece of checked baggage with a maximum weight of 10 kg and a maximum size of 158 cm (height + length + width). Pushchairs are transported for free, but you must show it at check-in so that it can be tagged in the same way as a suitcase. Only the Babyzen Yoyo stroller (maximum dimensions 55 x 35 x 25 cm) in its protective cover is accepted for transport in the cabin, but, if accepted, the Yoyo stroller will be considered as the only piece of hand baggage of the adult traveling with the baby.

Passengers traveling with infants must include in their hand baggage any infant items (food, nappies, etc.) they want to take on board.

Baby Amenities

If you are traveling with a baby on a Corsair flight, you will be offered a baby pack. The baby pack (subject to availability) contains a Babybio vegetable jar, a Babybio fruit jar, a bib, a spoon, a nappies trash bag, a disposable pad for the changing table and a dental ring and is available at your convenience, alongside the other services Corsair offers such as bassinets, changing tables or bottle heating.

Since each baby’s needs vary, Corsair leaves it up to you to bring everything your baby will need during the flight (meals, bottles, nappies, care products, etc.), and the flight crew will be delighted to warm up the bottles and meals that you bring.
