What is Aerolineas Argentinas policy on hand baggage?

When flying with Aerolineas Argentinas, the carry-on allowance depends on the fare purchased:

  • PROMO fare for domestic flights within Argentina – only one personal item.
  • All other fares – one piece of hand baggage plus one personal item.

The carry-on allowance is subject to weight and size restrictions as follows:

Other items that you may carry on board are a coat, an umbrella, a small camera, a walking stick. Infants have no carry-on allowance, but a stroller, a baby walker or a folding baby chair are accepted free of charge in the passenger cabin, subject to space availability.

The maximum size per piece of checked baggage is 158 cm (sum of all dimensions) for all travel classes.

The maximum weight allowed per piece of checked baggage is 32 kg, except 23 kg within Argentina and between Argentina and Chile.

Sports Equipment

The following sports equipment is considered special baggage and accepted upon the payment of the applicable special baggage fee: bicycle, boogie boarding, bodyboarding, fishing, golf, hunting firearms, kitesurfing, sandboarding, scuba diving, snow skiing, snowboarding, surfboard not exceeding 300 cm long, water skiing, wakeboarding.

Other sports equipment, not specified above, may be carried as regular checked baggage. Canoes, kayaks, hang gliders, kitesurfing equipment, oars, pole vaults, spears, and windsurfing equipment are not accepted and must be sent via Aerolíneas Cargo.

Baggage Service

In case of damaged baggage, passengers must present themselves at the Aerolineas Argentinas baggage claim counter and fill a form to declare the missing or damaged content and its value. This constitutes a formal complaint and must be resolved within 30 days. The claim must be made before leaving the airport. If the passenger leaves the airport and then presents the claim, proof that the damage or pilferage occurred during the flight must be made.
